Way back in August 2021 (feels like a lifetime ago), I shared my wedding day shoes selection. To recap, here is the criteria I set for what I was looking for in a pair of shoes for our Big Day:

What I Was Looking For:

Comfortable for long hours of standing and dancing: I (correctly) anticipated being on my feet for most of our wedding day. Wedding dance floors are so much fun and I knew that’s where I would want to be. I also planned to be bopping around the reception to see our guests and give everyone a big hug. It was clear that my wedding day shoes needed to have staying power.

Able to easily walk on grass and outdoors: Our wedding ceremony was outdoors and 90% of our wedding photos were outside. Block heels were a non-negotiable.

I also was looking for shoes that were colorful, fun, and versatile. I wanted shoes that I could wear in the years ahead on anniversaries, special events, or just on a date night out on the town, and feel the rush of nostalgia-fueled endorphins.

Sarah Flint’s Perfect Block Sandal 60 checked all the boxes and I scooped up my shoes during their warehouse sale last year! So now, a little over a month since our big day, I’m answering the burning question…

Were My Wedding Day Shoes The Perfect Fit?

Absolutely yes!! I wore these shoes for hours – from early afternoon until the early morning hours. I was walking, dancing, standing, and very grateful for the wider toe box and the anatomical arch support. True MVPs of the day!

I was able to navigate walking outdoors through grass throughout our entire outdoor photography session with no problem. Honestly, walking towards a camera while wearing a huge poofy dress and trying to look natural isn’t as easy as you’d think! The inset block heel helped me avoid any dips or ankle twists.

I am always a size 8 and that is true with Sarah Flint shoes, I suggest you go with your true size. My colorway isn’t currently available but Sarah Flint has a similar blue and white pattern called “Wisteria Silk” in the Perfect Block Sandal 60. If your fridge is already filling up with Save The Date cards, I highly recommend investing in the Gold Nappa colorway of this sandal, it’s the perfect guest sandal.

A Special Treat

Sarah Flint shoes are on the pricey side but in my opinion these sandals are an investment in my wardrobe for years to come because the quality is extremely high. And a special treat – you can use my code SARAHFLINT-BALAURENR for $50 off your purchase now!
