Where to Buy Affordable Silk Scarves for Spring

Rothys Review - DC Girl in Pearls

Top: J.Crew Merino Wool Turtleneck (Sadly this merino wool turtleneck is sold out but Nordstrom has a $99 cashmere turtleneck sweater that looks incredibly cozy) // Pants: Suede Leggings (SALE ALERT! These suede leggings are out-of-this-world comfy and I’d wear them every day if I could. And they’re marked down now to $40! I’m wearing a size medium and they hit at my ankle. If you’re taller, I’d go with a large. It fits exactly the same in the waistband but has an extra few inches of length. Here’s how I styled my suede leggings two ways) // Scarf: Tuckernuck Scarf (Exact scarf is no longer available but here’s a cute scarf from the same brand and is under $50) // Shoes: Rothy’s Pointed Toe Flats (I’m always a size 8 in shoes but after reading Rothy’s reviews for pointed flats, I went with an 8.5 and they fit perfectly. They recommend sizing up a half size for the pointed flats)

Happy Monday!!

With all the gloomy + rainy weather, I was a bit of a recluse this weekend. I got in my first workout of the month and made delicious Instant Pot carnitas with fresh pineapple salsa. Wild times, I know 😂

I know that March is supposed to go in like a lion but seriously, having snow in the forecast is just not ideal. Especially when you’re ready to break out your spring wardrobe!

Instead of reaching for my floral (groundbreaking, I know) dresses just yet, I’m getting my spring fix with my accessories. The stars of my spring accessories? Okay well… the title of this post really gave it away…whoops

My Favorite Affordable Silk Scarves

I love adding a scarf to my wardrobe to add color and pattern, especially in a more neutral look like my outfit above. And surprise, surprise, Amazon has been my go-to site for affordable silk scarves. This pink scarf from Amazon has a similar color palette as my scarf above – and I love the elephants + giraffes on this scarf here!

How to Style a Scarf for Spring

Around shoulders: Ha really descriptive I know! Basically styling it as I styled it in the picture above. To do this, I lay it flat and then fold in half lengthwise and then roll the scarf.

Tie around a purse handle: This is such a cute way to add some pizzazz to a work outfit. Sheath dress + blazer + scarf on your purse = power accessory move.

Around a ponytail: For a more casual look with jeans, you can tie your scarf around a ponytail. And thanks to Amazon (seriously, what did we do before Amazon?), scrunchie scarves make it ridiculously easy.

Use as a headband: Wrapping a scarf as a headband just makes you feel like Audrey Hepburn or Jackie O, right? It just gives off silver screen Hollywood actress vibes! But for those of us who have yet to master this look (…me), Amazon again saves the day with their scarf scrunchie headband.

What’s your favorite way to style a scarf? And if you have any tips on wearing a scarf as a headband, let me know 😂
