{Thirsty Thursday: The Pink Flamingo & My Mother’s Birthday}

There is great timing and then there is perfect timing! This is an instance of perfect timing. Today is more than just Thursday it is my mother’s birthday!! Lo and behold, her birthday falls on her favorite weekly post, {Thirsty Thursday}. How fitting!

You may know of my love for flamingos but my mother can take credit for introducing me to flamingos and fostering my love of all things pink. Last weekend, she purchased two plastic lawn flamingos and stuck them in our backyard for fun. My dad rolled at his eyes at the birds but my mother was already in the processing of naming them.

 My mother might be more of a pink girl than I am! She is a special education teacher at a high school and her students dubbed her “Mrs. Pinky,” a name she more than lives up to with her pink-filled wardrobe and accessories. For Mother’s Day, I gave her the Lilly flamingo tumbler, which she fills with tea every morning as she heads to school.

It is only fitting that this edition of Thirsty Thursday be dedicated to my mother and so I give you, The Pink Flamingo cocktail. Mom, have Dad whip this up for you!

Ingredients

1/2 oz Southern Comfort

1/2 oz Malibu Rum

1 splash Pineapple Juice

1 splash Grenadine

1 dash Lemon Juice

Preparation

Mix into a shaker half filled with ice & strain into glass.

Enjoy…and happy happy birthday, Mom!
