The Blazer I’ll Be Wearing All Spring

Talbots Aberdeen Blazer - DC Girl in Pearls #blush #blushblazer

Talbots Aberdeen Blazer in Rose Quartz (Yup, I will 100% be wearing this blazer about once a week if not more so expect to see it all over my blog/Instagram this spring! I would size up in this blazer, the piqué knit material doesn’t have as much stretch/give.) // Talbots Floral Pencil Skirt (This pencil skirt runs TTS and is quite flattering with a good amount of stretch that’ll make it comfy all day long at the office) // J.Crew Factory Cami (This cami comes in a variety of colors and is TTS. I’m wearing it here in “Marine Salt” but I also have it in black and hot pink. It’s a great going out top + looks super cute with jeans + a jacket in the winter and paired with shorts in the summer. The cami can be dressed up and down. Essentially it’s a perfect wardrobe staple!

Happy Tuesday! How was your weekend?

Last Thursday, I flew to Buffalo to join my parents and Tommy and spend St. Patrick’s Day weekend in my hometown. St. Patrick’s Day is a BIG deal in Buffalo and it was a whirlwind trip for sure. I was so happy to get the chance to see my family, catch up with old friends, and indulge in a slice (or two) of my favorite pizza in the whole world. Oh, and of course wings. Because I can’t be in Buffalo without getting wings!

I made it back to DC late on Sunday and spent Monday getting my life in order. I hit the gym to undo some of the weekend’s indulgences, finished this post and started a new one, and managed to fit in a couple loads of laundry. Phew, can you tell I was feeling ambitious?

My work week is on the slower side this week and I’m taking full advantage to tackle some of the more un-glamorous cleaning + errands that I keep procrastinating on 😆

Don’t worry I’m balancing it out with a few happy hours!

So while I’m living in jeans this week, here’s the outfit I’ll be wearing on Monday and let’s be honest, all throughout the spring and summer.

Blush Blazer

Talbots generously sent me this Aberdeen blazer for a partnership and I’ve worn it at least once a week since. I would size up in this blazer, the piqué knit material is very flattering but it doesn’t have as much stretch as other blazers do.

The blush hue is perfect to transition your wardrobe from winter to spring. It complements so well with the darker colors of winter pieces like my black sheath dress but then is light and feminine enough to go all-out for spring with this floral skirt.

I’m also loving the idea of pairing this blush blazer with this peony gingham sheath dress for a monochromatic office look. Plus you can’t go wrong with gingham!

How I’m Styling the Blazer on the Weekend

I can’t let a blazer as pretty as this one only be worn for work, right? I’m paired this blazer with my favorite Talbots girlfriend jeans (runs TTS + are SO comfy), a simple white tee and my cap toe slingbacks for a casual yet put together outfit to meet up with girlfriends for a drink on the weekend.

And when the weather becomes warmer, I know I’ll be wearing this blazer with shorts + espadrilles.

TL;DR I’ll be wearing this blush blazer all spring long!
