Kicking the week off by highlighting a small business + the sun hat I’ve been wearing all summer long! I’m a big fan of hats, keeping the sun off my face has is a priority for me and become a part of my routine when I’m going to be outdoors for awhile – just like I make sure I’ve got SPF on.
Sunshine Tienda is a Texas-based small business run by sisters Laura + Amanda. Their sun hats are made with palm fronds by female artisans in Guatemala – and the hats are named after their maker! My sun hat is impeccably made, it was SO hard picking which hat to purchase because of all the different colorways. Don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll be back to add another to my collection. P.S. There’s a visor version of my sun hat!
How do you pick your hat size?
Picking a hat size can be tricky. I’ve got a bigger noggin so I went with the M/L size. But to be absolutely sure I had the best fit, I added the hat sizing foam tape to my shopping cart. Head over to my Instagram Story to see how I used the hat sizing tape to get a secure fit for my sun hat.
Cut off the amount of tape you want to use, the more tape the tighter the fit. Peel off the adhesive + place inside the hat under the black lining. Add or remove tape until you get your best fit.
Statement Earrings
You know I love a good statement earring. You may recognize these gold dipped statement earrings from my recent roundup of my favorite neutral statement earrings. They’re incredibly lightweight, you don’t feel any weight on them at all. I love how the gold detail gives it the versatility to dress it up or down. I’d say this is a very casual outfit but I think the gold dipped earrings would look amazing with espadrilles and a flowy dress for a dinner out on the town.
Beach Dresses + Sarongs
Sunshine Tienda recently expanded beyond accessories into beach dresses + sarongs. I’m planning to travel to the beach with my family later this summer, their watermelon sarong would go perfectly with my Aura sun hat. I’m also loving the look of this breezy smocked navy gingham dress!
