Happy Friday, everyone!!
It’s been a long time since I’ve done one of these shorter, more casual blog posts. But with Thomas’ recent sleep schedule (or lack thereof) I’m trying to be as efficient and agile as possible during the moments where he’s down for a nap and I can open up my laptop and work.
I love to write longer, chattier posts. Those are truly my favorite moments to sit down with a chai latte, a written outline with thoughts and scribbles, and start typing away. With Thomas at home, I don’t always get the opportunities for longer stretches of time needed to write those kinds of posts.
When I put out a Reader Survey this summer, you guys were incredibly thoughtful in your responses. Thank you again for taking the time to share your opinions (P.S. It’s still open if you didn’t see it before, I’d love to get your feedback!). One person said not to worry about the length of my blog posts, “whatever you have time to do.”
So, for today, we’re going with short ‘n sweet. Thomas is down for his midday nap (however long it’ll be), Riley is monopolizing all the space on the couch, and it’s quiet enough I can actually hear myself think.
We’ve already dove a little bit into spooky season here on the blog but before we go all-in on Halloween, let’s talk about September’s best sellers because I think they’re perfect for a stylish fall!
Plaid Field Jacket: I love how this field jacket makes me think The Parent Trap’s Annie James would have this piece in her fall closet. The plaid adds a touch of elegance to the jacket and makes it a statement piece on its own. I’ve got this field jacket in my cart for when temperatures finally get cool enough in California!
American Flag Sweater: A classic staple that is fantastic for transitioning from summer to fall. Here are 6 ways I’d style the American flag sweater for all your fall socials!
Forest Toile Scarf: If you’re looking for a larger scarf to up your accessory game without breaking your budget, Tuckernuck is truly the way to go. Their in-house brand has phenomenal scarves for under $100. I’ve purchased several of these scarves and they are amazing for styling for the office and for the weekend. The fall hues in this scarf make me want to add it to my collection.
Huarache Sandals: In Southern California right now, we’re still not fully out of sandals weather. Enter huaraches as the solution. I purchased a pair of these at a local farmer’s market earlier in the summer. My mom pretty much lived in these shoes in the summer growing up so as a new mom, I felt like adding these to my shoe collection was a rite of passage. They’re a great casual closed-toe shoe for warmer fall days. I have a bunch of outfit ideas to pair with your huaraches!
Bean Boots: A fall closet staple if there ever was one. I highly recommend ordering a pair now before they sell out! Be sure to check out my sizing guide before you order to get the perfect fit.
Amazon Lounge Set: I wore this lounge set nonstop this winter because it’s so incredibly cozy. The last couple of mornings recently, our living room has been a bit chilly when Thomas and I head down to start our days. Him to his bottle and then playtime, me to giving him his bottle and then my chai latte while supervising his playtime. I’ve been tossing this lounge set on in the mornings and it really just makes me so happy, especially on weekends!
Green Field Jacket: You know what would look great with your Bean boots? This L.L. Bean field jacket. And I love the corduroy collar detail!
Rugby Shirt: I’m really excited rugby shirts are in style for fall. Their boxy silhouette is great for postpartum life and I love its old school, preppy feel.
And, right on cue, Thomas is up from his nap! Have a wonderful weekend!
