mad about plaid

DC Girl in Pearls | mad about plaid

Thanksgiving with my family is a pretty casual evening, we save the dressing up for Christmas Eve. However, I always like to wear something a tad fancy but still low key. And preferably with an elastic waistband because I really really love mashed potatoes. The solution? My plaid skirt!

In case you haven’t noticed, I am a big fan of ivory and white tops because to me, it’s just easier to switch out skirts, pants, etc to finish an outfit. Expect to see my ivory ruffle top often this winter.

I added my gold belt to give a touch of sophistication and I love how it complements the buttons on my schoolboy blazer. It was a bit chilly that day so I opted for my riding boots but nude ballet flats, or even red to match the plaid stripes, would go swimmingly.

I’ve invested in a ton of white button downs this season. I keep finding myself reaching for them because they’re so versatile. I’m also partial to a great plaid skirt.
