My Favorite Spring Sweater

JCrew Factory Slub Cotton Teddie Sweater | @dcgirlinpearlsSweater: J.Crew Factory Slub Cotton Teddie Sweater (I love this lightweight sweater for spring. It comes in a bunch of different colors that are perfect. I’ll be wearing the sweater with jeans for now + with shorts when the weather gets warmer. Size small worked for me but I wanted it a bit looser for a relaxed fit so I sized up) // Jeans: Talbots Girlfriend Jeans (I rambled about my love for these jeans the other day – basically they’re the best jeans I’ve found in forever for us girls who are on the short side and they’re under $100!) // Vera Bradley Umbrella (This is an older pattern from Vera Bradley but this Vera umbrella has a very similar colored pattern) // Bean Boots (Here’s my guide to buying a pair of L.L. Bean boots – they’re the best for rainy DC spring)

Happy Monday!! Despite the almost nonstop rain this weekend, my mom and I made the most of it and bounced from Eastern Market to Georgetown and back again. We headed to Georgetown for a little retail therapy at Lilly Pulitzer + Vineyard Vines. Spoiler alert: I found the perfect dress at Lilly for my 10 year high school reunion at the end of May. I can’t wait to share it with you guys! It’s also pretty excellent motivation to get back to the gym, not gonna lie. Also, Vineyard Vines spring line is in their DC store and it.is.so.good. I had to corral myself in the men’s section to avoid spending half my paycheck on everything. Walking away from this gingham shirtdress took an inhuman amount of willpower. And this seersucker one shoulder ruffle top. And this stripe dress with a bow most of all.

My mom and I made a final stop at Sephora before popping into Clyde’s for a glass of wine and lunch. As soon as I looked at the menu, my eyes locked onto carnitas tacos and it was game over. While the tacos were listed under starters, they were the perfect size for lunch and were incredibly fresh and delicious.

While my mom and I were running around town, we did manage to snap these outfit photos during a rain break! I’ve been living in this sweater for the last 2 weekends so I had to share it with you all.

Quick side note: Thanks to everyone who responded to my IG Story question about DC content! I really appreciate your feedback and I already have a few of your suggestions in my blog calendar. In case you’re not on Instagram, I asked which DC neighborhood you all live in and what kind of DC content do you want to see on the blog?

Okay back to this outfit:

J.Crew Factory Slub Cotton Teddie Sweater

I tried on the Teddie sweater (it’s the Factory version of the J.Crew Tippi sweater) over Presidents’ Day weekend and knew immediately it was going to be a staple in my spring wardrobe. The Slub Cotton Teddie sweater comes in a bunch of colors (I picked it up in navy, orchid and green…they were on sale!) and its lightweight material will easily take you through spring to early summer – before the humidity kicks in. I’m wearing it with jeans and tucked into skirts now but cannot wait to pair it with shorts once the temperatures start to rise. I have the perfect pair of shorts to match with the orchid Teddie sweater and I’m nerding out about it. I swear I’m cool. Promise.
