Coral Shift // Michael Kors Trench Coat (Not currently available but this London Fog trench coat is nearly identical + comes with a detachable hood and quilted liner for extra warmth. And it’s $138!) // Sperry Sneakers (Also available in navy, black and a super cute light blue + white stripe version!)// L.L. Bean Tote (My tote is a size medium with zipper top, which is great for traveling.)
Happy Monday! How was your weekend?!
Mine was the perfect mix of fun + productive (…okay I’m officially an adult). I met up with an old co-worker + caught up over a drink, started a new book, deep cleaned my apartment, and checked out a new spot with friends to watch March Madness. Plus it was downright GORGEOUS out, which automatically put me in the best mood. Pretty sure I had a goofy smile on my face all day long! Just having the windows open in my apartment and being able to walk outside in a dress without tights was a serious mood booster.
My favorite outwear for the spring is my trench coat. It took me years to find a good trench coat, not even exaggerating. I’ve rounded up a bunch for you and they’re all under $200! The J.Crew trench says $228 but it’s currently marked down to $150 😊
Trench Coats Under $200
The trench coat is a classic spring staple and will last you for years so it’s worth spending a little more. When I was hunting for trench coat, I set a budget cap at $200. The good news is there are a bunch of really great quality trench coats in that price range!
My exact trench coat is currently sold out but this London Fog trench coat looks nearly identical and it’s $138! London Fog is a terrific brand and they are known for their trenches. When I went to purchase my trench, London Fog was sold out, otherwise I would’ve gotten this one.
The London Fog trench coat, like my Michael Kors one, has a detachable hood (which comes in handy during DC’s springtime torrential downpours) and a quilted liner for extra warmth.
How to Style a Trench Coat for a Spring Weekend
Sneakers
There’s a good chance I wear this outfit every weekend this spring. Sneakers—like my slip-on Sperrys—keep this outfit casual to wear for a Trader Joe’s run but looks cute enough to meet up with girlfriends beforehand for a coffee. Plus with all the nice weather, there’s a pretty high chance you’ll want to walk more + enjoy the sunshine so better be prepared with sneakers!
These slip-on Sperry sneakers are available in black, navy + white – plus a super cute stripe pattern! Growing up, I loved slip-on sneakers so I could quickly head out the door. Does anyone else remember those backless sneakers?! Those need to make a comeback, I lived in them every summer.
Shift Dress
I picked this shift dress up years ago for $15 at a TJ Maxx and I’ve loved wearing it throughout spring and summer. It’s breezy and so incredibly versatile, I wear it to work during summer with a linen blazer all the time. On weekends, you can’t go wrong just throwing on a shift dress.
