When you’re in a rush on a weekday morning, the black work dress is like Superman. It swoops in to save the day when you have a fashion block and need to be out the door in 5 minutes or when you spill your tea all over yourself and need a quick change. Been there, done that on both accounts. Lately though, I feel like my black work dress needed a facelift.
I was pawing through my closet trying to solve my dilemma when my eyes lighted on a hot pink gingham button down. It should have been packed away with my summer clothes but serendipitously, the gingham was still hanging around.
I love how the bright pink pops against the black to breathe life into my tried & true BWD. A quick fix for layering under any neutral colored work dress. And bonus: it takes less than a minute to throw it on in the morning.

Actually I’ve had these pumps for almost 4 years! They’re Ralph Lauren ivory snakeskin that I snagged at Loehmann’s. Jessica Simpson nude pumps are still my go-to, wore them today 🙂
