With all the tweets and pins about Carolina Cup, I thought it was more than necessary to dedicate this {Thirsty Thursday} to the mint julep!
Fun fact: U.S. Senator Henry Clay (remember him from history class?) introduced the mint julep to Washington, D.C. at the famous Willard Hotel.
Ingredients
4 fresh mint sprigs
2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
1 tsp powdered sugar
2 tsp water
Preparation
Muddle mint leaves, powdered sugar & water in a collins glass
Fill the glass with ice and add bourbon
Top with ice & garnish with a mint sprig
