Spicy Grapefruit Margarita

I’m declaring March to be Margarita Madness.

I’ll be honest, I’m not big into basketball so the March Madness/brackets stuff is pretty much lost on me. I’m more of a football/hockey/baseball kinda girl. But imagine a big bracket where instead of college bball teams battling it out, it was a bracket filled with margarita flavors. Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about. All day, ev’ry day.

Picture it (Sophia-style). You’d have the tournament favorites, the strawberry-lime swirls of the competition if you will. Sure, you’d have some more unexpected winners like this blood orange margarita. But who’d be the Cinderella story? The underdog, come-from-nowhere margarita that would swoop in and blow the favorite out of the water.

Meet Cinderella.

The margarita formerly known as the Spicy Grapefruit Margarita.

It’s got it all: spicy, tarty, a smidge of sweet and loaded with lots of lime-y flavor. Could you really ask for anything more?

Queso, you should probably ask for queso.

I told you my newfound love of grapefruit-habanero combinations had no end in sight. The breakout star of this margarita? Oh, you know, just a little star player with some serious zip. Habanero simple syrup.
