While Ina Garten is my favorite, Giada is a rather close second. She seems so sweet and is beautiful…how does she stay so tiny?! If I was able to cook all her delicious treats, I highly doubt I’d be her size. I’ll hazard a guess she has supergirl willpower.
Recently, I visited my neighborhood’s new pizza joint with friends and several of us sipped limoncello. It was wonderfully refreshing on a hot day. Cut to several weeks later as I peruse Food Network’s site to get inspiration for my menus and cocktails. Lo and behold, Giada has a recipe for homemade limoncello. I might have to make this a weekend projects…ahh, just noticed it has to sit for 4 days, better start now : )
Ingredients
10 lemons
1 bottle of vodka
Simple syrup (3 cups water: 2 cups granulated sugar, heated in saucepan until sugar dissolves)
Directions
Peel the lemons and place the peels in a pitcher.
Pour the entire bottle of vodka into the pitcher.
Let it steep for 4 days.
After 4 days, add simple syrup.
Let the mixture sit overnight at room temperature.
Strain into a bottle (or pitcher).
Chill for several hours.
