Sharing how to style a sweater tank for sweater tank season for a casual look and date night.
Sweater Tank // White Jeans // Panama Hat // Layering Necklaces // Backpack // Sunglasses // Jacks
Sweater Tank Season is the sweet spot between the end of spring when it’s too chilly to go without a sweater and before the oppressive summer humidity hits. My sweater tank is from Banana Republic a few years ago but good news – J.Crew has a nearly identical version that comes in navy and a bunch of other colors! Katie from Stripes and Whimsy raves about this $27 Amazon sweater tank, I would definitely trust her judgment.
Two of the many reasons I love my sweater tank is that you can dress it up or down and it adds a fun knit texture to any outfit. Here’s how I’d style my sweater tank for a weekend day out and about and for date night.
Casual: Panama Hat + Backpack
Just me, pretending to be Lizzie McGuire in Italy LOL. The Library of Congress fountain is one of my favorite spots on the Hill and I love walking by there as often as I can!
For a more casual look, I paired my sweater tank with my favorite Panama hat (linking a similar version here) and grabbed my backpack. I’ve worn this outfit out to brunch, to meet up with my book club, or even when I want to look casual but still feel put together.
Date Night: Scarf + Strappy Sandals
I’m so excited for al fresco dining season to get here! It’s been awhile since James and I have done a date night out between traveling and the less-than-cooperative rain but I’m sure we’ll make up for lost time. This is an easy, breezy outfit for a summer evening. Add a scarf for some flair and toss on a pair of strappy sandals – like the raffia sandals I wore for our engagement shoot! I’m also a big fan of these gingham heeled sandals. Grab a clutch and you are out the door.
