Jade Roller // No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil // No. 2 Plumping Facial Oil // No. 3 Balancing Facial Oil
Happy Tuesday! I had an amazing trip to New York last week and definitely took advantage and indulged in pasta, bagels + wine. It would’ve been wrong not to, right? The downside is when I got back to reality, feeling puffy and audibly hearing my body yell at me to eat a vegetable.
(P.S. I did eat some greens last night – I made sautéed bok choy + mushrooms with salmon. You can find the recipe in my Simple Eats Highlight on Instagram)
I needed an extra boost in the morning to feel back to normal so I brought in the big guns: My jade roller!
What is jade rolling?
Jade rolling is simply using a jade roller (this is my exact jade roller, it’s on Amazon Prime for $22), rolling it across your face upwards and outwards.
How do you use your jade roller?
I mostly use my jade roller in the morning after I cleanse my face and apply a moisturizer.
You roll it across your face upwards and outwards for about 2 minutes. I usually start with my chin and move upwards, using the larger end for most of my face. I switch to the smaller end to roll my eyelids.
I know some people like to keep their jade roller in the fridge so it’s extra cool. But I find that keeping my jade roller in the bathroom keeps it cool enough to be efficient at de-puffing. Whatever floats your boat!
What are the benefits of using a jade roller?
Jade rolling gets your circulation going, helps de-puff the eye area, helps with lymphatic drainage (aka it’s detoxifying) and improves skin elasticity.
Using a jade roller can also help even out your complexion. I have a bit of rosacea on my cheeks and I can see a noticeable difference in my complexion when I use my jade roller.
Plus, it’s a nice, calming start to my day before the craziness kicks in!!
Where can I find a jade roller?
I bought mine off of Amazon Prime for $22! You can shop my exact jade roller here. I love it!!
Can I use my jade roller at night?
Yes! If I have the time, I use my jade roller during my evening skincare. I take off my makeup, cleanse my face and then reach for my facial oils.
For the longest time, I avoided facial oils like the plague. I already have oily skin, why on earth would I add more oil to my skin?!
But facial oil acts like a moisturizer and helps reduce redness (winner winner) and boosts hydration in your skin, especially if it’s dry and irritated. Plus it’s anti-aging! With the weather being all over the place and traveling over the weekend, my skin was definitely in need of some extra help.
I took advantage of Beautycounter’s holiday sale and picked up Beautycounter’s Facial Oils Mini Trio to test out their facial oils. I’m a big fan of using my jade roller to help my skin deeply absorb the facial oil. I add a few drops to my fingertips and gently tap my fingertips all over my face. Then I roll my jade roller outwards and upwards.

Here’s what you need to know about their facial oils:
No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil
The No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil is a daily radiance boost. I love this oil’s citrus-y scent, this is a facial oil I would use in the morning to start my day off on a good note (aroma?). The No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil quickly absorbs and awakens the skin.
No. 2 Plumping Facial Oil
The No. 2 Plumping Facial Oil works to moisturizes and firms up your skin. When my skin is extra dry, this is the facial oil I reach for. The Plumping Facial Oil also helps minimize the appearance of fine lines!
No. 3 Balancing Facial Oil
The No. 3 Balancing Facial Oil is probably the facial oil I use the most. It not only moisturizes but also calms + soothes the skin. I always add an extra drop or two to my cheeks to help target my rosacea. The facial oil has a very relaxing scent, I love using this facial oil before bed!
