DIY 5 Minutes, $13 Decor

My  latest home decor project has been a long time coming. It’s been at the top of the list but somehow, it’s taken me just about a year to complete. And this project only took $13 and less than 5 minutes of my valuable weekend. I have no excuse whatsoever.

Between cooking, baking and mixing cocktails, I spend a good amount of time in my kitchen. While this means happy hours spent dancing along to my Pandora stations and filling my studio with delicious aromas, it also meant staring at my fuse box. Gray and metal and not aesthetically pleasing to the eye. My cheap, quick fix? Paper & a frame. Doughnut Frame 1I went to Paper Source and bought this adorable doughnut wrapping paper for $2.50!! Thankfully, a Home Goods opened up this month in Georgetown so I paid them an inaugural trip to scour their frame section. I found this shabby chic frame for $10. The rustic look paired perfectly with the assorted jars on my kitchen counter to keep up with the cottage glam feel of my studio. Sold!

I carefully measured the size of the paper and cut to size, placing it in the frame and voila! Easy peasy lemon squeezey. DIY DoughnutThis simple lift immediately brightened the spirits of my little kitchen and I no longer have to look at a fuse box. The best part? I have a good amount of doughnut wrapping paper left over for more easy decor projects to come!
