Sharing 4 outfit formulas from J.Crew spring arrivals I’m copying to make getting dressed and looking polished a breeze this season!
I was browsing through J.Crew’s new arrivals for spring to see if there were any items that could fill the gaps in my wardrobe. And then I noticed there were several outfits I definitely wanted to copy once the weather warms up. I’ve been a big fan of outfit formulas lately. I feel like my morning getting ready time is rushed and chaotic. To avoid defaulting to leggings and an old sweatshirt, I put together “Outfit” options and formulas in my Notes app and it’s become my bible for those moments when I need to put together something to wear but my mind is just not firing on all cylinders.
I have a few of the J.Crew pieces or similar ones already in my closet and have a couple ideas of how I’d put a spin on these looks.
Outfit #1:
Cashmere Sweater Shell | Linen Pants | Woven Belt | Rattan Handbag | Sandals
My spin: Tie a scarf around the neck (here’s an easy how-to!), add a hat to keep the sun off your face, and accessorize with Huarache Flats.
Outfit #2:
Linen Shirt | Linen Pants | Gold Necklace | Strappy Sandals
My spin: I’d opt to make this matching set more casual for the farmer’s market and go with more simple jewelry, a pair of sneakers, and a tote (like this $19 straw tote that’s very Parisian or the classic boat and tote).
Outfit #3:
Sweater Shell | Woven Belt | Chino Shorts
My spin: I’d add a crewneck sweater, styled around the shoulders or as is for chillier spring days. Instead of sandals, wear a pair of ballet flats for additional color.
Outfit #4:
Red Striped Tshirt | Chino Shorts | Belt
My spin: Keep it casual with a baseball hat and a fisherman sweater tossed over the shoulders.
