Until very recently, I avoided wedges like the plague. I thought they looked clunky and I worried I would look like a tacky 90s time warp. My philosophy changed when I found a pair of nude wedges from GUESS (of all brands) at DSW. They are simple with clean lines. What more could a girl ask for? Check my Instagram for a snapshot today ; )
Just as I was wary of wedges, I was equally wary of ankle straps. I had a crippling fear they would cut off my leg line, making my leg look short. As a shorty (I’m just shy of 5’3″), the idea of my legs looking shorter had me running for the hills. But it’s not so!
It’s incredible how we can let these hangups affect us. Once I realized my fears were all in my head, I cannot get enough of wedges. With sundresses, pencil skirts, shorts, I love them with any outfit!
save: gingham // rope
To say I am drooling over these Kate Spade gingham wedges would be a gross understatement. I enjoy shoes just as much as the next girl but I am much more likely to fawn over a bag or a really great bangle. But these beauties! Ah, they are perfection in my book. But the save is a great option for those of us who are keeping our manicured hands tight on the pocketbook. Jack Rogers is my tried and true summer favorite and I am digging the nautical vibe in these wedges big time. They could really add glam to a Saturday date night outfit. In the save group, the double knot lends an awesomely intricate detail. I would wear this wedge with a pair of colored chino shorts and a button down to Sunday brunch with the gals.
Which is your favorite? Do you have a shoe phobia like me that you overcame (or maybe it’s still a work in progress!)?
