Vegetable and Butcher Review

After indulging and treating myself every day in New Orleans, I really needed a reset. Vacation was over and my diet of po’ boys and cocktails had to come to an end. Though when you’re on vacation and the hotel you’re staying at has a cocktail called “Dance Party,” you order it. And it was delicious. But it was back to DC and time to get real.

And by real, I mean real foods that aren’t processed, are whole, nourish and cleanse. I flew back to DC late on a Sunday and I ordered the biggest salad I could on Monday. While I love my neighborhood, there isn’t a grocery store so I have to do most of my grocery shopping on the weekend. The corner market is good for last-minute small things but it definitely wouldn’t cut it for my “get real” promise.

Enter Vegetable and Butcher.

They bring you vegan + Paleo(ish) meals right to your doorstep, ready-to-eat. These meals are prepared by a chef and approved by a dietician. Basically they take the guesswork out of “Is this really healthy for me?” and even do the legwork of chopping + prepping. And if you or your roommate/significant other/dinner companion has any dietary restrictions, Vegetable and Butcher have got your back because their meals are gluten-free and dairy-free.

Vegetable and Butcher generously sent me three delicious meals to try and all were flavorful and left me feeling full (but not stuffed) and honestly happy. 90% happy because of the tasty meal and 10% happy because there were absolutely no dishes or pots to clean up. That’s really the beauty of Vegetable and Butcher, I had more time to unpack, get my life in order and do so.many.loads.of.laundry.

Vegetable and Butcher was a lifesaver to get me back on track with nutritious meals and took the stress out of getting back into the swing of things after a vacation. And good news for you guys! V+B is offering 15% off your first order with code V+B4PEARLS.

Go forth and eat healthfully/deliciously.

This is exactly the type of thing I’ve been looking for. I just came back from 2.5 weeks of vacation and my body needs something like this 🙂 I’m moving from DC to Philadelphia at the end of August, but I just signed up to get these meals during my last week in town. Hopefully they expand soon!
