Trader Joe’s Southwest Salad Lunch

Hello! Now that my move-in is mostly complete, I’ll start regularly updating this blog again. Yesterday, I was too exhausted to pack my lunch after un-packing my life. So, I decided on my lunch to walk to the Foggy Bottom Trader Joe’s. Good decision.

I had never really explored their wraps, salads and sandwiches section. Boy, have I been missing out.

I give you my latest favorite lunch: Trader Joe’s Southwest Salad! For a mere $3.99 (where else in D.C. can you find a lunch for that price?), you get a fresh salad with romaine lettuce, chopped red peppers, corn, black beans, cotija cheese (although I admit I’m not a cheese person so I remove the cubes) with dressing included. Yum! The dressing is delicious: it seems to be a mixture of a mild Ranch flavor with traditional Mexican flavors such as cumin.

This salad tastes delicious and is chock full of healthy and fresh vegetables. It’s good for you and your wallet! What’s not to love?
