Hi, everyone! I know it’s been a week since my last post but last Thursday morning, my grandfather passed away so I flew back to New York that day to be with my family. Tomorrow’s post will be a dedication to my wonderful grandpa.
The other night I sat outside on my grandparents’ deck with my parents, aunts and grandma and noticed my Aunt Mary make herself a Manhattan. The next day, my great-uncle Matt ordered a Manhattan. Sensing a pattern in my family’s taste? While a Manhattan is not my cup of tea, it did remind me of one of my favorite ChickLit books: The Perfect Manhattan.
The Perfect Manhattan tells the story of a young college grad in New York City who works as a bartender based in the Hamptons as she searches for a job. I actually discovered this book because one of the authors, Leanne Shear, attended my high school so our alumni board hosted a party in her honor! It’s Devil Wears Prada-esque as both authors actually worked as bartenders and compiled their personal stories to build this novel. So pour yourself a Manhattan and curl up with The Perfect Manhattan!
