Over the weekend, I went to a friend’s Christmas cookie swap. I was too {under the weather} to bake cookies so I substituted with a bottle of wine. However, one of the hostesses, as it turns out, is an amateur mixologist so the cocktails were flowing. I was one happy girl.
There was a cocktail mixing gin and Champagne. I am typically not a gin drinker but I was pleasantly surprised! I will have to get the recipe but in the mean time, I found this delightful gin & Champagne concoction:
Ingredients
2 oz gin
Juice of 1/2 lemons
1 tsp powdered sugar
chilled Champagne
Directions
Shake gin, lemon juice and sugar with ice in a shaker
Strain into a highball glass
Fill with chilled Champagne
I think this would be a wonderful cocktail to serve at a New Year’s Eve party.
