thirsty thursday: an evening with rose

An Evening Rose TitleRose WineEvening IngredientsBrie Slice CollageArrange the brie and crackers in an appealing pattern on your serving dish. Since it’s a lighter appetizer, select a smaller dish, you could even use a salad plate. I arranged my brie and crackers on a sandwich plate that originally belonged to my great-grandmother. Sandwich plates work as excellent small serving dishes, you can find inexpensive ones here and here.

Rose is best served chilled so as you slice the brie and arrange your plate, keep the bottle of rose in the refrigerator. Once you have the brie and crackers ready to serve, take the bottle of rose out. Rose is a wonderful summer wine because of its sweet, fruity flavors.

My wine glasses are from Wine Enthusiast, who generously sent me a set of four Fusion Whirl Chardonnay glasses. I love the shape of the Fushion Whirl, the tapered glass keeps the fruity aromas trapped and the wine chilled. As for aesthetics, I think the tapered appearance of the glass gives it a unique charm. A little quirk goes a long way on my wine glass shelf.

Sadly, the Fusion Whirl Chardonnay glasses are sold out but Wine Enthusiast offers similar models here and here.

An evening with rose is ideal for a gossip fest with your best friend or a low key but romantic night with your main squeeze. Or maybe it’s a Wednesday and you want to toast being halfway through the week. Celebrate it all : )
