The Boyfriend Shirt // Lilly Pulitzer Palazzo Pants (Wearing size medium, the elastic waistband has a lot of stretch so if you’re in-between sizes, I’d recommend sizing down. Otherwise TTS) // Raffia Lantern Earrings // Jacks

If you haven’t been converted yet to the aptly named “The Shirt” by Rochelle Behrens yet, trust me you will be once this post ends. Ignore the “casual” in this post’s title. The Shirt is a godsend for every woman who has experienced that dreaded “gap” in their button downs.

We’ve all been there. You put on a button down in the morning, check yourself in the mirror, and you look polished and professional. But then you spend the rest of the day checking periodically to make sure you aren’t accidentally flashing a gap between the buttons of your shirt. It’s a headache.

The Icon Shirt by Rochelle Behrens looks like your standard button down BUT it has secret extra buttons strategically sewed to ensure you will never experience the dreaded gap ever again. To me, that peace of mind is worth paying extra for The Icon Shirts. They are $98 each but as I said, to me it is worth paying more for a quality piece that I feel comfortable and confident in every time I put it on. I own Icon Shirts in green gingham, gray stripe, and blue stripe, and wear them constantly for work and on the weekend.

Now that I had a solid collection of Icon Shirts in my closet, I decided to check out the brand’s other shirt styles. I had shied-away from the Rochelle Behrens Boyfriend Shirt because I was worried it would look too boxy on me and also I couldn’t tuck it into a pencil skirt for work.

I’ve embraced the relaxed fit of The Boyfriend Shirt (SIZE DETAILS) and loved how it looked paired with faux leather leggings during the winter along with my loafers. The looser fit made it look more casual than the structured Icon Shirt and within a couple of wears, I was firmly on board.

To style The Boyfriend Shirt for warm weather, I grabbed my Palazzo pants (aka pants that feel like pajamas). Because Palazzo pants are flowy, I needed to balance out the boxy fit of The Boyfriend Shirt. I tied the ends of the shirt into a knot to give the shirt a more structured look. Last but not least, my favorite summer earrings – the Raffia Lantern Earrings.

P.S. This outfit is part of a mini-series I’m sharing on “Vacation OOTDs.” To see my latest looks, check out my Instagram Story or TikTok. Here’s my outfit from Monday!
