My black work dresses have become more than a staple of my 9-6 wardrobe. They’ve become a crutch. Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with throwing on a black dress, adding a colorful belt and some heels and bracelets for a quick out-the-door morning outfit. But I needed to change it up. The solution? My navy scallop dress!
Easy to throw on in the morning and the scallops are practically an accessory themselves. The scallop details give the tried and true shift dress a real boost. The form is flattering yet loose, perfect for those days when you have more than 1 margarita and some steak fajitas. Trust me, I’ve done the leg work.
I dressed up my navy dress with gold jewelry from Loren Hope, I love her tassel necklace and layered it with my pearl necklace. I’ve been reaching for my tassel necklace with almost all of my outfits to give it a finishing touch (tassel?). It pairs with everything from my office attire to jeans and a black top on the weekend.

I just got this dress in black a few weeks ago and haven’t worn it yet, but have been thinking about how to style it. Good call with the pop of color shoes!
You could also layer a button down underneath the dress during cooler weather.
