As a Catholic school survivor, I spent the majority of my formative years in a uniform. I remember thinking how grown up the middle school girls looked in their kilts compared to the jumpers 5th grade girls and down wore. We all hated our uniform at one point or another but looking back, I wouldn’t trade my education and its ensemble for absolutely anything.
In my hometown, Catholic schools are the norm and are abundant compared to other parts of the country. Each school had its own plaid and I could identify where a student attended from a mile away based on their pattern and colors.
I don’t wear as much plaid as I used to when I wore it every day but for fall, the warm tones and familiar pattern are perfect. And I must admit, there are mornings when I wish I could just pull on my uniform instead of standing in front of the closet trying to make a decision before the caffeine kicks in…
DC is in the transition stage from summer to fall. You know, where it’s not quite warm enough for sundresses & shorts but it’s also not chilly enough for full fledged fall attire. You can bet that once the weather turns, I’ll break out the plaid!
The plaid pieces I am going mad about…

I miss the days of catholic school uniforms!! My uniform for 9 years was a red plaid just like the watch you posted!!
I miss my plaid uniform so much! It made life so much easier. I saw some middle school girls at the mall the other day in the same uniform and I got a little misty-eyed! I actually picked my private school because their plaid skirts were cuter than the other three schools!
