Hello, it’s been awhile! Between wedding planning and moving into a new apartment, it feels like July was a giant whirlwind that hasn’t stopped.
Wow, a LOT happened in July. Hence, not a lot happened over here on my site. Right before James, Riley, and I were getting ready to head to Tennessee to spend the Fourth of July weekend with his family, a bigger apartment became available. A move was certainly not in our summer plans but it was too good to pass up! Our old apartment was getting a little cramped for two people and an enthusiastic hound. It felt like we were all constantly tripping over each other. We spent several days packing up and moving our breakables, clothes, small items, etc. and then hired movers for our furniture. Having extra space and storage in the new apartment has made SUCH a noticeable difference. This weekend, we celebrated being settled in and being less than a month away from tying the knot!
Which brings me to the next part of my life – our wedding. We’re getting down to the fine details of our big day and it was getting overwhelming. I sat down and did what I do when things feel like too much – list out every little thing that popped into my head that still needed to be finalized. It didn’t matter how small because I still felt accomplished when I crossed something off the list. Plus, it seemed like a massive list in my head. On paper, it feels much more manageable. A BIG sigh of relief combined with a HUGE weight off my shoulders.
One wedding detail we got checked off our list this weekend was our altar decor! James and I are getting married at a historic home that is absolutely gorgeous. I didn’t want the altar (for lack of a better word) decor to drown out the beauty of the home. I found these containers at Home Depot that go perfectly with the ambiance and picked out two ferns to go into them. Plus, my sentimental, sappy self loves the idea of taking the ferns home with us to live on our patio as a daily reminder of our incredible day.
Okay, I am falling asleep as I type so signing off for right now. A post that I’ve been working on for awhile will go live on Wednesday. But I wanted this post to go first to chat about where I’ve been for the last month. I’m excited to be back!
