Top: J.Crew Tippi Sweater (I’m wearing a size small, Tippi sweaters run a bit large. They come in a variety of colors, I love to tuck into a pencil skirt for work) // Skirt: J.Crew Factory Wool Sidewalk Skirt (I love this skirt and have about 5 versions of it in my closet. It’s so great to throw on with a blazer for Casual Friday at work or for the weekend. Plus it has pockets, which always sells me) // Bag: Coach 23 Saddle (Last seen here) // Riding Boots: Enzo Angiolini Riding Boots (Similar)
It’s been for-ev-er since I’ve done an outfit post. I’m the first to admit that I’ve been seriously slacking when it comes to blogging these last few weeks. Between getting my bearings with a new job and traveling, I had to shift my focus and I seriously fell out of sync with blogging. I kept pushing my post ideas off week after week after week, which is silly because I truly enjoy creating content. So I went back to basics and mapped out a game plan to get me well…back in the game.
It also helped that in the last week, a few friends guilted me for not posting. And as someone who went to Catholic school for 14 years, I respond well to guilt.
Blogging is truly one of my favorite things and I get happy and excited thinking of new outfits, recipes and cocktails to share with you. Is there such a thing as a blogger’s high? If so, I definitely get that when brainstorming content ideas.
Speaking of favorite things, this outfit includes pretty much all of my favorite things so I’ll stop rambling and we’ll chat about this outfit.
J.Crew Tippi Sweater
The J.Crew Tippi sweater is probably my favorite basic piece, period. It’s incredibly soft and I love wearing it with a pencil skirt for work and then jeans on the weekend. Tippi sweater, jeans and puffer vest are my fall uniform, just so comfy and cozy! Fall weather needs to hurry up and get here so I can break out my puffer vests. Tippi sweaters tend to run a bit large, I wear a small. And pro tip, the J.Crew Factory version of the Tippi sweater is called the Teddie.
J.Crew Factory Sidewalk Skirt
Like I said above, I have 5 of the J.Crew Factory sidewalk skirt in various colors. I’ll start with the best feature upfront: Pockets. Anytime I find a skirt or dress with pockets, I’m immediately sold. Right now J.Crew Factory only has this skirt in solids but once we get into the holiday season, they bring a festive plaid version into rotation like the one in today’s outfit. Mark your calendars! I love wearing this skirt for Thanksgiving and Christmas because 2 words: Elastic. Waistband.
Coach 23 Saddle
I’m a tote girl all the way from Monday to Friday. On any given work day, I’m lugging breakfast, lunch, gym clothes and sometimes shoes in addition to all the usual stuff in my bag. To all the women I see going to work with a tiny bag, I salute you and ask…How do you do it?!? I’m serious, I’d like to know how. Teach me your ways. Once the weekend hits, I swap out my big bag for a crossbody. I love the Coach 23 Saddle‘s rich burgundy color and its separate compartments to keep everything I need for errands or a night out easy to organize. It’s a splurge piece for sure but so so worth it. I use mine pretty much every weekend in the fall and winter, I love it!
P.S. In full disclosure, I was walking with my lovely friend + photographer CA to shoot this look and we were gabbing away. When all of a sudden, a bug flew into my mouth. I lead a glamorous life.
