{Food Truck Friday} Dangerously Delicious Pies

After a hiatus, I’m back with {Food Truck Friday} posts! If you have a food truck you think should be highlighted or you’d like a review of one, let me know.

Today’s food truck is Dangerously Delicious Pies!

Dangerously Delicious Pies boasts savory pies, such as chicken pie and pork BBQ, as well as quiche, including roasted veggie and mushroom and swiss, but shockingly, I opted for a sweet pie. My sweet tooth has a mind of its own, I swear!

Anyway, I’ve been wanting to try this food truck out for awhile so I snagged a menu and got in line. Always a good sign when there’s a line for a food truck! At first, I was leaning towards the Apple Crumb pie because apple pie is one of my all time favorite desserts. But then, I saw…The Baltimore Bomb!

To quote from the menu, “The Baltimore Bomb has quickly climbed to a top selling position. It’s loaded with Berger Cookies (a local specialty) that melt down and swirl into a sweet vanilla chess filling.”

Done. I knew I was going to be purchasing that pie. An icon of Baltimore, Berger Cookies are vanilla wafers covered with a thick layer of chocolate fudge. Also, it was silly when the guy asked me if I wanted whipped cream on top. Of course, I do!

I paid $6.50 for my rather large slice of pie and don’t worry, I didn’t eat all of it. I think I would’ve exploded if I had! Overall, I enjoyed the Baltimore Bomb but I wish it had more fudge in it, that was really my only complaint. The crust was flaky and melted in my mouth, yum!! The vanilla chess was sweet without being too sweet and the fudge I had on top was very rich. I was a satisfied customer and would definitely recommend this food truck to curb your sweet tooth! I really cannot resist puns.

Have you eaten at Dangerously Delicious Pies? What do you think of their pies?

I’ve been to their shop a few times in Baltimore and had the Baltimore Bomb! I didn’t know they had a truck in DC, pretty cool.

I haves severe food truck problem. I am in love with all the options – fojol bros is my absolute favorite. I normally stick to lunch stuff, but I think you just convinced me to try the dessert trucks. As if I needed to spend more time eating out of trucks! 🙂

I’ve never tried Fojol Bros but I will definitely put it on my list! For someone with a major sweet tooth like me, the dessert trucks are where it’s at!
