Happy Monday!! I’m still on a major endorphin/happiness high from this weekend. I may have reached peak happiness.
Parks + Recreation is my all-time favorite TV show so when I heard that Stanton + Greene was hosting a Parks + Rec theme brunch on Saturday, I let out an audible squeal of happiness in public and immediately rounded up the group text to go. There was a tense moment on Saturday morning when we all had the same thought that maybe it was an elaborate April Fool’s joke and it sent some panic through the group text. But Stanton + Greene more than delivered on the Parks + Rec theme!
For our brunch “starters,” our host brought out a candy charcuterie board courtesy of Sweetums: A pile of sugar, marshmallow fluff + assorted Skittles, Reese’s Pieces and M+M’s. Seems about right. Instead of mimosas, pitchers of Snakejuice were available. I decided to go with the most Leslie Knope of breakfasts: Waffles with a ton of whipped cream and a side of ice cream. The attention to detail at the Parks + Rec brunch was on point and I loved every moment of it. Even the part where I was the only one in the group to (loudly and off-key) sing along to “Catch Your Dreams.” I regret nothing.
