Fall Staples Under $100

I had a serious case of the Mondays this week. I thought I had scheduled this post for Monday morning and then when I finally got the chance to check on it later that afternoon, found it hanging out in the Drafts folder. Dear lord. Okay so sorry for being a space cadet, let’s get back to regular programming.

This last weekend was one of those weekends that was just simply perfect. A hockey game on Friday and on Sunday I convinced two of my friends to come with me to the Bills bar. After wings and mimosas, I’m pretty sure they’re now Billievers. And they even survived the Shout song several times!

I’m kinda torn between wanting to hold onto the gorgeous weather we’ve been having and wanting it to feel a bit more fall-ish. Maybe not full-on chilly but you know, a long sleeve shirt and a puffer vest. After all, vest season is the best season, right?

I’ve started putting most of my summer clothes away in Spacebags and also cleaning out my closet for clothes I can donate to Goodwill. And taking notes of which fall staples I need to re-stock. Thankfully, J.Crew Factory is having an awesome sale right now with my favorite gingham shirt and puffer vest both 50% off! I love my gingham shirt for both work and weekend. For the office, I layer it under a navy sheath dress or underneath a sweater + tucked into a pencil skirt. It’s incredibly comfortable and will last you for years.

L.L. Bean is the reigning champ of fall staples under $100. Their fleece pullover is my favorite for running errands or going to a casual brunch, you won’t believe how soft it is! I like it to be a little on the looser side so be sure to size up – I go with a medium since L.L. Bean tends to run on the roomier side. Of course, I’ve already gushed about their Bean boots. Stock up now while they’re still in stock!! Yes, I know Bean boots are technically over $100 but at $129, I think we can let it slide 😉

Most people only think of boat shoes when they think of Sperrys but I love their wellies! They come lined with fleece and are so cozy when DC gets hit with a monsoon. My street always has ginormous puddles that are really small lakes so I rely on my Sperry wellies to keep my feet dry when wading through these lakes masquerading as puddles.
