This weekend was just what I needed, the perfect mix of R+R and productivity. Quiet time, pizza, Pure Barre, Gilmore Girls, Opening Belle, finally conquering Mt. Washmore (What I started calling my overflowing laundry basket) and putting the last of the summer clothes in Spacebags under my bed until next year.
While I was folding and sorting, I added a pile of clothes to donate to Goodwill. At least once a season, I go through my closet and put clothes that no longer fit or I no longer wear into a Goodwill bin. My family did this every year when I was growing up, it’s a good habit to have.
I’ve never really been a trendy person, I stick with the classics and I like simple pieces that I can mix and match to my little heart’s desire. Have you dabbled in building a “capsule wardrobe?” With each season and its Goodwill donation, I have been working to fill my closet with pieces that won’t go out of style and I can wear for years. Plaid, sweaters, scarves, tortoiseshell are top priorities in my fall capsule. Have you built a capsule wardrobe? What’s in your fall capsule?
P.S. Happy birthday to my cutie pie, Tommy!

Happy Birthday to Tommy! I love all the pieces you picked. I keep debating about trying out a capsule wardrobe. In the fall I wear a lot of the same pieces. Jess at Just Jess
I love those plaid flats, they are adorable!

I’ve gotten my clothing for donation out of my closet, but now it’s sitting in the trunk of my car. I need to get to my local community store for a dropoff ASAP!
I’m working on a capsule wardrobe, but I keep giving up halfway through. Perhaps I need to go about it in a different way?
