Pumpkin pie gets all the credit at Thanksgiving, year after year. But to me, apple pie is the unsung hero of the Thanksgiving dessert world. I’ll take a slice of apple pie and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream any day of the week. You can keep your pumpkin pie, you can even keep your pecan pie, I’m happy as a clam with my apple. I mean, the expression is “As American as apple pie” after all…
And as a wise man once said, “If you love something…turn it into a cocktail.” I might be paraphrasing just a teeny bit but you get the gist. Apple pie martinis will get you where you need to be to handle your crazy relatives this Thanksgiving and the best part is you can multiple the recipe to create a big batch for all your family members. Or serve it up at Friendsgiving!
Thanks to Tervis’ Shaker Top, crafting cocktails at home has never been easier. I measure the ounces along the size of the tumbler and then shake shake shake shake it off. Simply remove the top and pour into a glass. The best part is that the shaker top transforms any 16 oz Tervis tumbler into a cocktail shaker. Perfect for cocktails at home or at the tailgate party!
You can do this one-handed as you stuff your face with apple pie. Multitasking at its most delicious.
P.S. Check out Tervis Entertaining Collection, their rocks glasses are adorable with their crisp, clear design and durable to survive even the clumsiest of guests (we’ve all been there)!
Ingredients
Apple Cider, 4 ounces
Vanilla Vodka, 2 ounces
Apple Slice, for garnish
Directions
In the Tervis Shaker Top, pour the apple cider and then the vodka. Place the top on the tumbler and shake well.
Remove the top and strain into a glass.
If you want to get all fancy on me, you can also use caramel vodka and perhaps line the rim of the glass with cinnamon-sugar. Let me know what you think!

Yum!
My roommate and I have probably far too many Tervis tumblers than is good for us… the fact that they make a cocktail shaker lid is so perfect!
