Amarula Affogato

There’s always room for ice cream in my opinion. Even when it’s 23 degrees out like it was yesterday, I could go for ice cream. My sweet tooth just can’t be tamed. Plus, we’re a week and a half away from Christmas (When did that happen??) and it’s the season for indulging in all the sweets! And you know what really makes spirits bright? Amarula affogato.

I’m not a coffee drinker but I make an exception for affogato. Especially when there’s a splash of liqueur in there ; )

I love affogato especially during the holiday season because it’s such an easy after-dinner dessert to throw together and is a surefire crowd pleaser. If there are people who aren’t into coffee, just top the ice cream with the liqueur.

Full disclosure: Amarula gave me this bottle. I tried it out and loved its lightly sweet taste and after I put it over ice cream…oh boy, now we’re talking! And it’s all about the garnish, right? I topped my Amarula affogato with coconut whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon plus a Speculoos cookie that I may or may not have used as a shovel to get as much affogato as possible.

Entertaining during the holiday season can be stressful so you should keep a carton of vanilla ice cream and a bottle of Amarula handy. I promise your guests will love an Amarula affogato! You could make the affogato with or without coffee (Like me) or you could even just pour Amarula into a rocks glass with an ice cube. It’ll be easy to be the hostess with the mostest thanks to Amarula!

Another great reason to pick up a bottle of Amarula this holiday season? Saving elephants! I have a soft spot for elephants and have elephant decor throughout my apartment. If an elephant picked me up with their trunk, I would implode from happiness overload. In September, Amarula launched the campaign, “Don’t Let Them Disappear,” which is dedicated to saving and protecting the African elephant population, as one elephant is tragically lost to poaching every fifteen minutes. Until the end of December, $1 will be donated for every bottle of Amarula purchased in the United States. Donations will go to their non-profit partner, WildlifeDIRECT, where the funds will directly support their on-the-ground conservation efforts.
