Bourbon for breakfast, anyone? This Hot Toddy might look like your average cup of tea but let me tell you, it’s anything but. And I know the title of this post kinda spoils the hook but let’s just pretend you didn’t see it. Okay? Okay. Maker’s Mark reached out to me a few weeks ago to challenge other bloggers and me to put a spin on the Hot Toddy, a mixed drink made with liquor, tea and spices. I racked my brain for days, trying to think of what I could do to give my own take on this classic. I was coming up with zilch until a few days later when I was ironing and catching up on podcasts. And BAM! Inspiration struck and I practically did a happy dance. Okay, I did a happy dance. I was going to take one of my favorite Christmas cookies and turn it into a Hot Toddy. Yup, I’m talking about…
Snickerdoodle Hot Toddy. Oh yeah!
You may recall last year when I DIY’d snickerdoodle cookie butter and shared egg nog ice cream snickerdoodle sandwiches. We’re keeping the snickerdoodle party going strong this holiday season by whipping up a Snickerdoodle Hot Toddy for holiday guests, for your own sanity or even for Santa! It combines milk ‘n cookies and there’s a healthy kick of bourbon. I mean, Santa has a lot of chimneys to go down and presents to deliver. If anyone deserves bourbon, it’s Santa.
Maker’s Mark sent a bottle of bourbon and an assortment of Harney & Sons teas to concoct our drinks. Once I decided on Snickerdoodle Hot Toddy, it was go time and I got to work. I assembled the ingredients to create a snickerdoodle taste and guys, I’m really excited with how it turned out. A cookie in bourbon cocktail form…it’s the magic of the holidays in a mug!

Ahhh Lauren, I LOVE this! Also Harney teas are the best. This would be perfect for a freezing morning like this 🙂
Thanks, Mon! Harney teas are new-to-me and I love them. I definitely could’ve use one (or two) this morning!
