Changing Seasons

And we’re back!! Over the last few weeks, my site’s been getting a (much) needed-facelift so I’d like to welcome you to my new site! DC Girl in Pearls has been around for 5 years now and was well over-due for a redesign. Katie, who I met at the Blog Societies Conference, has been a busy bee giving my blog a new look and putting up with my list of demands! She did an amazing job and was insightful and professional throughout the entire process. If you’re thinking about doing a site redesign, I highly recommend you reach out to her. I cannot say enough nice things about her!

When I first started to think about how I wanted a new site to look, I knew I wanted to make it more user-friendly. It used to be such a pain to find a cocktail, recipe or outfit post so fixing that was Priority #1. If you look under the new logo (which I love!), the navigation bar will put every post at your fingertips. For Style, I’ve tagged every post as “Casual” (like this one), “Work,” “Dressy” (think of the holidays), and “Shopping.” “Shopping” is the category for collage-type content. “Cocktails” are now organized by type of liquor so if you are in the mood to make a bourbon cocktail, just click on that and you’re in business! The other category I’m really excited about is “Shopping.” Here you can easily shop my Instagram posts and any item I share on Snapchat, like my nightly beauty routine or any outfits not posted here on the blog.

I am over-the-moon happy that today’s finally the day I get to share this with you, it’s taken all of my willpower not to spill the beans about it earlier. I have pretty much zero willpower so this was quite the feat for me.
