Factory Eyelet Skirt (On sale for $22!) // Factory Linen Shirt // Eastern Market Necklace (Identical: BaubleBar Bold Beaded Strands) // Factory Rattan Clutch // Jacks // Aviators
I’d call this weekend a success. After the last few weeks of traveling and fighting a summer cold, I needed a good weekend and boy, did I get one. It always helps to start with a White Ford Bronco concert at the Bullpen, their set list was on point on Friday. It was like listening to a soundtrack of my middle school years and I loved every minute of it.
Saturday was a pool day that turned into a spontaneous all-day party. Friends, grilling, pool, canned rosé. It really doesn’t get much better than that. We wanted to keep the party going so we piled into an Uber and headed to The Codmother on U Street. If you haven’t been before, The Codmother is a pretty no-frills basement bar covered in chalk drawings that serves up 90s and 00s tunes and PBRs (Angry Orchard for us non-beer drinkers) all night. It was like an encore of White Ford Bronco. If you haven’t been before and you love a good dive bar, I’d recommend checking the place out. Any place where you can belt out “Wanna Dance with Somebody,” “Scrubs,” and other girl power anthems is a winner in my book.
Sunday is my main blog day. I shoot and edit photos, write posts and schedule social content. Yesterday, I reunited with my friend Abby to shoot outfit photos and it was a blast despite the crazy humidity. I threw this look together a couple of weeks ago for Blogger Scene after my original outfit idea fell through and I was running late. The white linen shirt breathes like no other and the Factory eyelet skirt (currently on sale for $22!) is loose yet flattering, which means it heavy in my summer rotation. This eyelet skirt is definitely going into my suitcase next weekend for our Chincoteague vacation. Bonus: It has pockets!!
Sundays are also Platform class days, which means I have to block out a period of time for me to recover from this intense workout. No joke, you guys. It’s going to be a challenge to roll out of bed tomorrow, I can already tell. I also continued to read Big Magic and get to a good pause moment since Harry Potter and the Cursed Child hits my doorsteps tomorrow! Reading a new Harry Potter in the summer while listening to 00s pop, it just feels right.
How was your weekend?
