thirsty thursday: bourbon pumpkin pie shake

Bourbon Pumpkin Pie ShakeWhen I flipped my calendar to September 1st, I convinced myself it was fall and the weather would get the memo so I could pull out my cable knits and beloved puffer vest. But DC  doesn’t seem to get in a hurry to get the brisk, sunny fall weather. My Weather Channel app shows DC will remain in the low to high 80s for the time being.  So what’s a girl to do when she has her heart on fall? Whip up a boozy milkshake, of course!

The cool ice cream mixed with all the ingredients for warm pumpkin pie filling bring both summer and fall together. Mission accomplished. Bourbon Pumpkin Pie Shake Ingredients

Ingredients (serves one)

1 cup canned pumpkin

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup bourbon

1/4 cup light brown sugar

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

1/4 tsp ground ginger

1/2 tsp cinnamon

3 generous scoops of vanilla ice cream

Directions 

Combine all ingredients in a blender & blend until smooth.
