When I flipped my calendar to September 1st, I convinced myself it was fall and the weather would get the memo so I could pull out my cable knits and beloved puffer vest. But DC doesn’t seem to get in a hurry to get the brisk, sunny fall weather. My Weather Channel app shows DC will remain in the low to high 80s for the time being. So what’s a girl to do when she has her heart on fall? Whip up a boozy milkshake, of course!
The cool ice cream mixed with all the ingredients for warm pumpkin pie filling bring both summer and fall together. Mission accomplished.
Ingredients (serves one)
1 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup bourbon
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 generous scoops of vanilla ice cream
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a blender & blend until smooth.
