Where I’ve Been Lately & Flipping My Mindset
Oh hey, remember me?
It’s been a bit since my last post. James and I returned from our honeymoon almost exactly a month ago, feeling rested, relaxed, and inspired. I had a whole list of post ideas in my Notes on my phone!
Then reality and real life kicked back in and I’ve felt like a hamster on a wheel ever since. Last week was particularly busy and hectic, I was so relieved once Friday finally showed up. I was exhausted. The level of exhaustion where the back of your eyeballs hurt.
Beyond hitting the wall of exhaustion, it also hit me that for the last few weeks my routine has really gone off track. My usual evening activities – working out, reading, and blogging – went totally out of the window. Then I had another realization. The obstacle stopping me from getting to those activities, which I know make me happy, at the end of the day was me and only me.
I had to flip my mindset.
I spent the weekend recalibrating and focusing on what brings me joy. A yoga flow (humbling after not doing those poses in awhile and honestly grateful I didn’t fall on my face), a trip to Eastern Market for fresh produce, a desperately needed pedicure, and quality time with people I love. I even started a new book!
