Sorry for the delay in this post, it seems that WordPress thought today was Saturday & didn’t want to work!
Last week at Trader Joe’s, I picked up a bottle of Prosecco on a whim. I’ve had Prosecco before but it’s never been a wine I drink with any regularity. I should know better since I minored in Marketing but I am a sucker for a pretty label. Yes, sometimes I do judge a book, or in this case a wine, by its cover.
I Googled “Prosecco cocktails” and happened upon this delicious concoction. I could eat strawberries every day and basil is one of my favorite scents so this cocktail is right up my alley!
Ingredients:
3 ripe strawberries that have been hulled and sliced
6 leaves of basil
1 ounce of a good white rum
1 ounce of sour mix
2 ounces of Prosecco
Preparation:
Add the strawberries and herbs together and muddle them with a mortar and pestle or other crushing implement until the strawberries are a pulp and you can smell the herbs.
Add the muddled strawberries and herbs to a rocks glass and add 1 ounce of white rum, 1 ounce of sour mix, and stir.
Add ice to the glass and top it off with 2 ounces of Prosecco.
