Happy almost-Friday! We’ve almost made it through the work week! I don’t know about you but I am ready for the weekend although I feel as if my weekend “To Do List” is longer than acceptable. Note to self: work on fixing that.
In other news, I went out to Slate last night, a new wine bar & bistro in Glover Park. I’ll post about that later because the real highlight of the night occurred at another bar, Bourbon.
I don’t know about you but I have a culinary palette with all the sophistication of a seven year old. I am not lying when I say I’d be more happy if a guy took me on a date to get a really good burger and fries than if he took me to a fancy restaurant. Looking over Bourbon’s menu, I locked eyes with their root beer float and it was a done deal. Signed, sealed, delivered. I was getting a root beer float.
{It’s worth noting I’ve been craving a root beer float for awhile now}
My root beer float arrived but with a special surprise. The dashing bartender, Jackson, presented me with a shot of dark liqueur along with my root beer float {made with Abita root beer}. He instructed me to pour it into my float, which I gladly did. Oh my goodness. Jackson is my new best friend.
The Big Kid Root Beer Float is just like any root beer float but you put a shot of “All Spice Liqueur” in it.
I apologize for the terrible lighting but the label says “Bitter Truth: Pimento Dram” and is listed as an “All Spice Liqueur.” I’m sure if you go into your local wine & liquor store, the owner could point you in the right direction.
It was sweet but not overpowering and really enhanced the flavor of the root beer float. My float was absolutely delicious and I was one happy camper!
Have you ever made “Big Kid Root Beer Floats?”
