Right before the end of the school year, we received our summer reading list. While others viewed the reading list as a chore that detracted from days spent at the pool or Little League field, I looked forward to that list. More than looked forward to it, actually. I would insist on going to Barnes + Noble as soon as I got home from school that day so I, armed with my beloved summer reading list, could immediately start reading. Of course, I would always end up walking out with a couple extra books that weren’t on the list. I am fortunate to have a family that enables my bookworm ways.
Now I’m no longer in school and when summer rolls around, there are no teachers to hand me my summer reading list. But I still harbor a love of reading and it’s up to me now to create a summer reading list of my own. I aim for a balance of serious and humorous and honestly, I’m not really big on “beach reads” so here’s what I’ll be reading summer 2014.

I would recommend Me Before You, Where’d You Go Bernadette and another book by the Gone Girl author called Sharp Objects.

I read Where’d You Go Bernadette and I LOVED Gone Girl, I think I read it in two days because I could not put it down. I’ll have to check out her other books, thanks!
The Confidence Cord book looks like something that I would enjoy! I’m going to check into it 🙂 If you haven’t read the White Girl Problems series yet, I highly recommend it for when you need a light read.
