Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? I spent mine with my family, they came down to visit me en route to another vacation (rough life). Lots of pool time mixed with some outlet shopping and hometown pizza feasting. In other words, a fantastic weekend!
It’s been forever since we’ve chatted about beauty so I figured we were due for a catch-up. Makeup, hair repair, masks, this round-up has it all. With the exception of the CC Cream, these are all products I’ve discovered in the last 2 months and are now firmly in my beauty routine. In the morning, I typically keep my beauty routine to the essentials because I’d rather have the extra few minutes of sleep. So you know these additions are low-maintenance but high-impact.
IT Cosmetics “Your Skin But Better” CC Cream has been my sole face makeup for almost a year ago and I’m hooked. I have large pores on my cheeks and nose and am prone to uneven skin tone. On top of all that, my face is very sensitive to the sun so I wear SPF every time I leave my apartment. I’m Irish and Polish, it comes with the territory. IT Cosmetics CC Cream solves literally all of my face woes: It hides my gaping pores and evens out my skin tone. AND it comes armed with SPF 50+ to protect my skin from the sun. I apply it with a BeautyBlender and I swear, it’s magical. The best part about this CC Cream? It goes on your skin so smoothly that you really won’t feel like you’re wearing any face makeup at all. I’ve worn foundations before where I am very aware of having a layer of makeup on my skin. But with the CC cream, it absorbs right into your skin, leaving you feeling fresh-faced.
IT Cosmetics Superhero Eye Transforming Anti-Aging Super Palette is a multi-tasking powerhouse, which is perfect for those mornings when you’re not quite feeling that super-charged yourself. I love that most of IT Cosmetics are anti-aging, especially for this girl almost officially being in her late 20s. I typically build my eyeshadow color using “Confidence” as a base and mixing “Powerful” and “Limitless.” For my everyday eyeliner, “Superhero” is my go-to but I’ve also gone with “Bold” on the weekends! I’ll packing this in my bag for the weekend as I jet off to Chicago for a wedding. I love how this palette has my makeup needs covered from casual brunch to formal wedding!
Masks have become a Sunday ritual in my apartment-hold but I also use the Sephora sleeping masks throughout the week. If I know my week is going to be busy, I’ll pick up a few of these sleeping masks the weekend before to have on hand to help keep me looking invigorated and not like I’m running solely on venti chai lattes. At $4 a pop, these sleeping masks are a fun “splurge” without really being one. I typically get 2 uses out of each container. Green Tea is my favorite, it’s great for treating blemishes overnight and absorbing excess oil (my arch-nemesis) while Pearl for brightening is a close 2nd.
L’Oreal Exfoliate & Refine Refine Clay Mask is my Sunday Mask du jour. After just one use, I felt like my skin was instantly softer and brighter. I am addicted to how it makes my skin feel in 10 minutes. This clay mask is the drugstore beauty find that makes you feel like a million bucks! It unclogs + minimizes pores and exfoliates the skin to smooth out any imperfections. Essentially, it’s everything I could ever want and more in a face mask.
With DC’s intense sun and humidity this summer, my hair took a beating. My hair became extremely dry and the ends were awful from me putting my hair up almost every day. I’m clueless about hair products but I did my homework and tested out this Living Proof PHD Split End Mender thanks to Sephora’s sample policy. And I became a believer. I’ve never used Living Proof products before but I loved how the split end mender instantly transformed my dry ends into smooth locks. It’s lightweight and easy to apply on damp hair, plus it smells so fresh and clean. I used up my sample and went back to Sephora to purchase the real deal because I couldn’t imagine how I’d gotten by before without it. Sayonara, dry hair!
