Painting my nails is a therapeutic part of my day. That being said, I usually forget to paint or touch up my nails until just before bedtime. You would think I would learn my lesson but no. Time and time again, I am climbing into bed when I look down at my nails and silently scold myself.

My outfits during the week vary in colors and style. Some days, I prefer neutrals and others, I like an ensemble with bright colors. As much as I’d like to switch my nail color as often as my outfits, I know it’s just not going to happen. Whatever color I pick over the weekend inevitably becomes the color of the week, whether it makes Wednesday’s outfit or not.

Finally, I decided enough is enough. I was going to stock up on neutral nail polishes. Colors that will transcend outfits through the week, no matter what the style.

My personal favorites are Lady Like and Eternal Optimist. {Lady Like has been a staple in my mani colors since fall 2011} and until recently, I thought Essie discontinued it. You can imagine how excited I was to discover Lady Like at CVS!

While at Target over the weekend, I picked up Eternal Optimist and we are going on Day Three of its wear. So far, so good: Eternal Optimist coordinates with a pale pink  lace pencil skirt just as well as when worn with colorful Minnie pants.

Besides, who can have a bad day with a name like Eternal Optimist?
