Being a DC girl, it should come as no surprise that I love politics. The first thing I do when I wake up is read news alerts on my iPhone in bed and then on the bus I read POLITICO Playbook and Morning Score. I really wish Morning Joe had an app so I could watch their show on my iPhone during my bus ride (which is when the show airs). Throughout the day, I have the news on in the background.
I could go on but I think you get the picture.
In 2010, I picked up {Game Change}…and promptly could not put it down.
Game Change follows the narrative of the 2008 election but Mark Halperin (frequent MoJo guest) and John Heilemann construct the race to 1600 Penn in a more dramatic prose. Even if you are an avid news junkie, you will find yourself swept up in the drama.
While reading Game Change, the following conversation occurred:
*Mother calling*
Me: Hi Mom, can I call you back? I need to find out if Hillary carries Iowa!
Mother: ….Really, Lauren?

If you enjoy political books, I’d also highly suggest {The Price of Politics by Bob Woodward}.
