I really can’t believe I haven’t blogged about Old Glory yet because it is one of my favorite places to eat in D.C.! I grew up on a meat & potatoes, all American food diet so it wasn’t until I came to D.C. that I expanded my palette. However, I’m still an all-American food lover at heart so Old Glory hits the spot for me!
My mouth is watering just thinking about their menu. I usually order the pulled pork sandwich with a side of seasoned fries and load it up with sauces featured at the table. When I’m not in the mood for pork, I order the chicken cobb salad and it’s wonderful!! I ordered this last weekend when I was there for a lunch with a friend and I couldn’t finish the entire salad! There was so much great flavor in this salad, I didn’t even put Ranch dressing on it. And that says a lot, my friends!
Oh and for you bourbon drinkers, Old Glory has 80+ bourbons on its shelf. Bonus: they celebrate {Thirst Thursday}, too with half priced draft beers (if only I drank beer…).
Old Glory also has outdoor seating on its patio, a great way to beat the D.C. summer heat!
I love restaurants that have a friendly, down home atmosphere and Old Glory certainly has that vibe. Plus, they give you Tootsie Roll Pops at the end of the meal. How can you not love a place like that?!
Do you have a favorite BBQ place in D.C. or where you live?
I like the brunch at Old Glory, too. We haven’t found a BBQ place in DC that really compares to real southern BBQ. I also like Jacksons 20 in Alexandria and Resturant Three in Clarendon mostly because of their bacon week!
I will definitely have to check these places out! Bacon Week? That sounds dangerously delicious!
i love old glory for drinks! i’ll definitely have to try out their menu…sounds so delicious! xx
My salad was out of this world delicious! It kept me full for almost an entire day!
Hill Country in Penn Quarter. Mmm, mmm good.
Ha it’s funny you mention that because I made plans to go there next week with a friend! My mouth was watering when I looked at their menu!
I am NOT a BBQ fan in the slightest. My friend had to beg me to go and I was SO thoroughly & pleasantly surprised. ENJOY! xo
