Hey all, happy Friday!! Like I mentioned yesterday, I felt like I didn’t stop moving this week for a second. And it doesn’t seem like I’ll stop moving this weekend either. My friends and I are grabbing margaritas tomorrow and then on Saturday I’m going to a friend’s birthday party with a possible stop at the cherry blossom themed bar in Shaw! Remember the Christmas bar? It’s back but with a spring twist! I still haven’t made it to the Christmas bar so you better believe I’m going to do my best to make it to the cherry blossom one. Sunday means sweating it all out at Flywheel and sometime in between shooting a couple of looks for the blog. I finalized my content calendar for March the other day and I am really excited about how it looks! Of course, if there’s something you’d like to see on DC Girl in Pearls let me know below in the comments or email.
Cooking: I ate this for lunch 3 days in a row because it was so good! Quinoa, chunks of chicken breast, spicy roasted zucchini (Thanks to red pepper flakes), wild arugula topped with tzatziki. I love Trader Joe’s tzatziki, it’s a great sub for salad dressing.
Coveting: With spring on the way, I have pastels on the brain in a major way. But the beautiful blush pink is really calling to my closet (and wallet). Here are the blush pieces I have on my wish list:
Shopping: J.Crew Factory just introduced a ton of new arrivals and they’re currently 50% off. Talbots is offering 25% off your entire purchase, I love Talbots for their perfect work separates and dresses and their Spring 2017 collection is sheer perfection! I rounded up a few of my favorites below, it was so hard to narrow it down!
Loving: I came across an article about how people were knitting stuffed octopus dolls to give to the babies in the NICU unit and my heart soared. Both my brother and I were preemies and I have a special place in my heart for the selfless nurses and doctors who work in NICU. It was fascinating to see how the babies responded to the octopus dolls! The feel-good story of my week.
Reading: Ugh I completely and utterly failed at reading this week unless it was the news or my email. But I have decided that the next book I’m going to read is Gabby Bernstein’s The Universe Has Your Back. Book recommendations welcome!
