J.Crew Factory Scalloped Cami // J.Crew Factory Scalloped Sidewalk Skirt // Lilly Pulitzer Murfee Scarf (This is the DC print and I absolutely love it!! I’m not sure if they are still in stock, I’d call the Georgetown or Bethesda stores beforehand. But if you just love the colors, this Murfee scarf has a pretty similar color palette. I love how versatile this scarf is, you can wear it instead of a statement necklace with a blazer for work or even with a tshirt dress on the weekend. I’ve been guilty of wearing it constantly during my AZ vacation!) // Rattan Bag (Available on Amazon Prime for $33! It also has a long strap and zipper closure, perfect to take with you out on a weekend. I shared more affordable rattan bags you can find on Amazon here)
Happy Wednesday!!
I’m back in DC after getting to spend a fun weekend with my family in sunny Arizona. It was so good to see them + just unwind in the sunshine. Almost every day, I grabbed my book (Currently reading Becoming by Michelle Obama, right now it’s on Prime for $13!) and headed to my parents’ backyard. It was absolutely heaven 🙌🏻
I also crossed off the Saguaro Hotel in Scottsdale on my list, my mom and I had such a fun time at their happy hour. And, of course, soaking in all the bright colors! Hot pink walls and $5 margaritas? Meet my new happy place. But that’s another post for another day.
Today, I wanted to chat about getting summer ready. But I’m not talking about accessories or outfits, again those are posts for other days.
I’m talking about making sure your skincare is ready for summer.
While I was in Phoenix (aka the literal Valley of the Sun), I became even more aware of how my skin was affected by the environment. During the cold winter, it can become so easy to forget or skip on the SPF. I’m very much guilty of that.
Now that summer is approaching + I plan to spend more time outdoors with friends or reading on my rooftop (#nerdalert), I’m refocusing on my skincare.
It took me a long time of getting facials, searching through cleansers, moisturizers and countless products, and a lot of Googling to figure out how to take care of my skin.
And I’ll be honest, it’s still an ongoing process.
Skincare became a passion of mine several years ago when I saw a PSA on TV that talked about the dangers of melanoma. Family history, a bad sunburn in my past, freckles, I had all the warning signs. I immediately booked an appointment with a dermatologist to get checked out. I was safe but it was definitely a wake-up call.
Now I want to help you!
