I tend to play it pretty safe when it comes to my outfit (and life) choices. Neutrals with a pop or two of color are my MO. It’s a great game plan when you didn’t pick an outfit the night before and your snooze button has your name written allll over it. I can be out the door in 20 minutes (if I opt for dry shampoo and decide to toss my budget to the wind and buy lunch that day) without breaking a sweat. But sometimes, a girl has to walk on the wild side.

Okay so I’ll admit this wasn’t a full-on Thelma + Louise style leap of faith, to the wild side. More of a toe dipped into the water. But that toe was in my favorite leopard print pumps so it totally counts.

I started with my usual neutral palette and tossed on my favorite leopard pumps from Target, these things were my lifesaver last Christmas season. I wore ‘em all the time and thanks to their chunky heel, I could stand on and dance in them for hours without pain. And they’re only $30. It’s a Christmas miracle, I tell ya!

In the spirit of holiday cheer and being adventurous, I wrapped myself in a plaid scarf and threw my matchy-matchy caution to the wind! For the piece de resistance, a two-tone green jewel bracelet from The Shopping Bag to give that glam factor.

The final touch is a festive bright red lip brought to you by Revlon for only $5! Seriously, cannot get enough of this lipstick. It lasts through several bites + glasses of wine, I’ve done the research.

With this outfit, I’m ready to hit the Christmas party circuit. On the arm, of course, of my new boyfriend: Cranberry Prosecco. He’s a gentleman and a scholar. And only costs $5. What can I say? I like my men cheap.
