Because your New Year’s resolution was to get more Vitamin C, right?
Over the weekend, I found myself in quite the conundrum: Extra champagne from New Year’s Eve and a burning desire to stick to New Year’s resolution and eat healthier.
The. Worst.
How are your resolutions going so far? Still going strong? I wrote down my blog resolutions in the notebook I carry where I write down all my ideas for content but I’d love to hear from you: What would you like to see here in 2015? More style posts? Work wear style? Let me know!!
As for personal resolutions, I know it’s cliche but I did resolve to eat healthier and shed some lbs. I’m back at Pure Barre and filling my meals with quinoa and veggies like nobody’s business. Also, overnight oats have become my latest breakfast obsession. Insanely filling and cheap. A win-win for my waistline and wallet is a homerun in my book.
Anyway, where were we? Oh yeah…It was the weekend and a wonderful vacation needed a champagne sendoff. It just had to be done. I really had no choice here, I swear!!
I finally settled on the classic French 75: Champagne, gin, and a splash of orange juice. This ain’t your everyday mimosa!
I mean, it would have been wrong to let that champagne go to waste, right? And look at how bright and happy that orange is!
- 3 tsp sugar
- 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 6 ounces gin
- 6 orange peels
- 1 bottle of champagne, chilled
- In each champagne flute, add about ½ tsp of sugar.
- Top with the orange juice and gin.
- Drop an orange peel into each flute for extra flavor.
- Top off each flute with champagne.

You had extra champagne after New Years?? I wish that was my problem haha my house was sucked dry! Love your drink recipe posts (clearly), and DC posts 🙂 They are great inspirations to what I should make at my house, and (when I’m too lazy) what I should go out to get!
